چکیده

The relative frequency of lymphoma types varies in different geographic region. Human Tcell lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I) infection is endemic in south-western Japan which leads to a high frequency of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL). As compared to the West, East Asian countries have higher relative frequencies of Tand natural killer (NK)-cell lymphomas, which account for about 15-20% of non-Hodgkin lymphoma after excluding ATLL in some Japanese series [1-5]. Accordingly, a higher frequency of Tand NK/T-cell leukemia would be expected in East Asia. As compared to B-cell lymphomas, Tand NK/Tcell neoplasms more frequently occur at extranodal locations, and may occasionally present as leukemia, either with or without concomitant lymphoma.

CD26+ Cord Blood Mononuclear Cells Significantly Produce B, T, and NK Cells

Background: Umbilical cord blood (UCB) is an alternative source of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), used in Leukemia treatment. CD26+ cells, a fraction of CD34 positive cells, are a major population of UCB cells which negatively regulate the in vivo homing and engraftment of HSCs. CD26 is highly expressed in various cells such as HSCs, immune cells, fibroblasts, and epithelial ce...

Extranodal NK/T Cell Lymphoma with Destruction of the Uvulae: A Case Report

Pediatric Natural Killer Cell Malignancy

Natural killer (NK) cell malignancy is a heterogeneous disorder and rare, representing <1% of non-Hodgkin lymphomas for most of the world, except in Asia and Latin America. In Asia, especially, the incidence of NK-cell lymphomas is approximately 7%–10% of lymphomas [Au et al., 2005]. The pathogenesis of NK-cell malignancies has not yet been fully elucidated. In the 2008 World Health Organizatio...
